In fashion, we know that we won’t go out of style. The same goes for Evisu‘s classic silhouettes, so I am not surprised that Evisu’s denim is once again seeing a boom in popularity.

 EVISU a Japanese brand?

A company was found in Osaka, Japan in 1991 and is named after the Japanese god of prosperity, Evisu Clothing , who is a symbol of prosperity. With care and attention, we hand-painted the famous seagull logo on each pair of jeans we made.

 EVISU good quality?

The EVISU jeans are selvage denim, crafted with authentic materials and vintage detailing with original methods. EVISU endorses this level of authenticity and is proud of the craftsmanship that goes into each pair and is made in the original working way.

How are EVISU jeans made?

Selvedge. EVISU denim is produced on narrow shuttle looms, which give the fabric a unique texture. At the edges, you see the thread going back around itself, making a smooth edge.

Evisu Jeans

The Evisu jeans had everything you could imagine in terms of quality and authenticity, and they were among the very first ‘designer’ jeans that went beyond brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, large American brands that did not so much manufacture their jeans at the time as rather licensed out their brand name to other manufacturers. The Japanese brand Levis – which uses the famous red tab on the pocket to pay homage to the original jeans label by using Evisu – followed an antiquated dyeing process.

The Evisu denim was indigo dyed on a vintage loop dyeing machine that feeds cotton yards through vats of rich blue dye and then takes them to the roof to age. It took around 30 processes to make the jeans, which were not only expensive, but also slow.
